AN INTEGRATIVE APPROACH FOR LASTING CHANGE

My Approach

During our coaching sessions I will be referring back to these basic fundamental principles for health and wellness. Many of these concepts were pioneered by Joshua Rosenthal, MEd, the founder of The Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN), where I completed my Health Coach training. It's a novel approach to food and lifestyle choices, acknowledging that no one diet is right for everyone, and that nutrition and health are about much more than what is on the plate.

We are all unique individuals with different genes, background, body type, family history and lifestyle. What works for one person may be toxic to the next, which is part of why diets tend to fail in the long run. In our sessions, we will look at your unique makeup and create an individual blueprint for success as unique as a fingerprint.

Bioindividuality*

Cravings can have so many causes and origins, so it's important not to ignore them or blindly give in to them, but rather seek to understand. During our work together we will examine all of your cravings, relate them back to stress in your life or other imbalances, and find ways to honor your cravings in a healthy way for both mind and body.

Deconstructing Cravings

Nourishment comes from more than just the food on your plate. Four fundamental areas: Relationships, Career, Exercise and Spirituality all contribute to your overall state of well-being and health. If these are out of balance, all the kale in the world isn't going to fix things. During our work together, we will examine all aspects of these "Primary Foods." 

Primary Food*

Not everyone is comfortable in the kitchen, but you don't have to be a Master Chef to master the art of creating healthy, delicious, nutritious meals that are not difficult or time-consuming to make. I absolutely love cooking, but it wasn't always this way. I will share healthy recipes and teach you techniques that will save time and wow friends and family!

Home Cooking

While most diets tend to be very restrictive, with lists of things you cannot eat or must avoid, the  concept of "Crowding Out" focuses more on the "YES" foods and how to incorporate more and more healthy ingredients and lifestyle shifts so that you will eventually no longer have room for the more unhealthy stuff. Trust me, you won't even miss it!

My path to a  mindfulness practice was a long and resistant one! "I'm too busy! I think too quickly, it would drive me crazy!" which is precisely why I needed it the most. I've been practicing yoga for over 20 years, and will incorporate mindfulness, meditation and breathing techniques into our work together so you can reap the proven benefits!
